So during Silent July(which you couldn't really say I participated in, since I wasn't really saying anything to begin with), a few people started writing letters to each other in order to connect in a more real-world way. Soooo... anybody open to trying it? I'd love it if other people here who might be interested in the same would use this thread for themselves to find penpals, too. I myself am a Hellenist, but in no way am I only interested in other Hellenists.

I suck at letter writing. But email buddies I can do. I have no idea why the email letter is easier for me then sticking pen to paper.

I'm with moonwolf23 - I suck at pen and paper (and you probably couldn't read my handwriting) but email? Sure! salix_03@yahoo.com is me, just let me know you're from this forum, and I'll babble away at you until you tell me to stop I'm Aussie, Norse-oriented and will happily talk to anyone, about almost anything.

marybeth - handwritten letters are a beautiful art form, just not one that I have an aptitude for

I'd be interested, too. I like writing letters. Plus, using paper means I can draw on my letters. Can't do that on an email.

Yeah I have that issue to, my handwriting is atrocious. My male supervisor at work, I make jealous faces at, because he writes in calligraphic type of writing. It is simply beautiful to behold. I wouldn't mind receiving letters, but I tend to write better in the email variety. It's easier for me to remember. I wouldn't be adverse to post cards either, and sending those.

I've done postcard swaps before, those are fun. I like looking for all the cheesy Australian postcards to send internationally.

I would be up for having a penpal. There is something rather lovely about getting a personally addressed letter in the mail that someone took the time to hand-write. Although I can't remember the last time that happened to me. LOL. Perhaps I should start practicing my cursive...

I would love to participate. I do the pen pal thing and I think it would be great to have a pal that was also a polytheist.

I'd be interested in this too - either paper or email.

Being firmly in the 'terrible handwriting' camp, I can suggest typing letters, printing them out, and then embellishing them with doodles, amusing notes, etc. Back in the days when email was actually not ubiquitous (when dinosaurs roamed the earth) this is how my close friend and I would communicate. We could never read each others handwriting, so typing was the way to go. Getting an actual letter really is a rare treat these days.

I'd be very interested, either electronically or on paper. I'm a Unitarian-Universalist Pagan who is new to harder polytheism. My interests currently lean more toward druidry (although I haven't actually studied or looked into it yet), but I'm not picky about what faith/pantheon a pen pal should have... I think I could learn a lot either way. I have been worshipping Brighid and Frejya.

Okay, so unless you want to put your mailing address online for all the world to see, how about we give an email, and then further contact can be established from there (whether actual letters ensue, or just email contact).
