V1.2 Added Paragraph in item 6 on discrimination
Before contributing to the community, please review the following posting guidelines:
- This is a religious community for actively practicing polytheists who relate to the Deities as individual, extant beings. Content should be relevant to this audience and focused primarily on honoring the deities, spirits, ancestors, and/or genius loci and helping / supporting other community members. Theological discussion is welcomed, however debate on the basic premise of the group should be held elsewhere.
In particular, debates on whether or not the Deities really exist or whether certain fictional creations are also Deities are not relevant to this group's audience and are a distraction from the goals of the community (to share in honoring the Gods and to help one another). - This group is actively moderated. At this time, content does not have to be approved before appearing on the community. In order to contribute, you must register. If you see anything that does not meet these posting guidelines, please report the post. Please do not respond to inappropriate material.
- This is a zero tolerance, drama free zone. Debate and disagreement are part of any healthy community, but no personal attacks against any group -- current or historical -- will be tolerated.
Debate examples: "Well, I disagree with you and here's why..." "During this time period, the group was actively persecuted by the Christian church." "That blog doesn't necessarily agree with our group's charter."
Attack examples: "Well, I think you're an idiot and here's why..." "Of course those damned Christians had to come ruin everything." "That blog is totally full of crap."
If you have any confusion regarding the difference between the above examples, please refrain from posting. Personal attacks will be deleted. Repeat offenders will be banned. Replies to personal attacks will also be deleted and members who can't keep from fanning the flames will be temporarily banned (go have a nice walk, it's not worth the stress). - Do not feed the trolls. Posts of a deliberately inflammatory nature (as judged by our moderator) will be deleted. Repeat offenders will be banned. Replies to those posts will also be deleted and members who can't keep from fanning the flames will be temporarily banned (I mean seriously, make an offering to your Gods, enjoy some nature).
- This forum contains language. All words can be used to clarify or confuse, help or harm, debate or attack. We don't censor any fucking words, only their inappropriate use.
- This is a collective. We worship many Gods, we have many practices. Attacking another's Deities or practices will not be tolerated. Note, there is a difference between questioning / discussing / explaining and attacking. Please see point 3 above. As with other drama, attacks will be deleted, replies to attacks will be deleted... you know the drill by now.
We also don't tolerate discrimination on the basis of pantheon, Deity, race, gender, sexual orientation, culture, and so on. All who honor the Gods should feel welcomed here. Deliberate discrimination is grounds for banning. Accidental discrimination (usually seen as privilege blindness or stereotyping) is grounds for gentle education, followed by harsher measures if the person doesn't get the hint. However non-discrimination does not mean ignoring our glorious differences. Conversation is always welcome (How does a transgender individual relate to a particular deity? How does culture inform practice? How do we balance the faith / practices of our ancestors with what we feel called to today?). - This forum includes an area to offer goods and services and boost projects. These items or projects should be related in some way to the charter of the group.
