Its been a while since I posted here, so I may as well throw myself back into the game by starting a new thread :-)
Does anybody have any specific devotions planned for July and August? I have none myself, I'm focusing my energy on getting a good daily (non-spiritual) routine hammered down and them move back into regular practice. Oh, and to cook more at home (which is partly a devotion to Brighid).

For the most part I'm trying to be more regular with my practice. Along with familiarizing myself again with the myths of my Gods, their hymns, the Delphic Maxims, etc. There's a Hellenic tumbler blog I like to follow, which is updated daily with the day and year of the Hellenic calendar, along with other information. Another thing I like about it is they also include different devotional ideas on different days.

Welcome back! It seems to be a pattern of fast and slow periods of posts at the moment, but quite a few of us are still checking regularly, happily. So far, nightly prayers, weekly(ish) informal food offerings, and the Deipnon and Noumenia. Disregarding me not spending enough(any) time in the past while doing the research, I am sort of lost on how to create a calendar with holidays; I tried a version of the monthly devotions to each deity(the 1st of the lunar month being the Noumenia, the 2nd being the Agathos Daimon, the 4th being Hermes', etc., etc.) and that worked well when I was not working-full-time-plus-everything-else-I've-got. I feel like a rotating festival calendar would be most useful at this point. My best guess of starting places would be celebrating anniversaries of encounters/experiences I've had. Which involves going through my journals since 2006 and marking stuff down. I wrote a lot, haha. Yay tedium! Do you have any sort of ritual calendar? How did you pick older celebrations(which I find many of irrelevant to individual practice or almost no information about?) and adapt them? What are your new holidays?

Marybeth: this is the site I had mentioned earlier homehearthandheart.tumblr.com, you can check it out if you'd like. I'm not going to admit how long it took me to realize how long an Olympiad is I acted out a little anecdote last week for Hermes, I'm thinking of making it a regular thing on Friday . Hmm, I've been reading some of my own devotional writings during ritual too. There are a lot of things I plan on doing actually.

There were no big festivals this month, except I missed Sobek's birthday on the 12th, so that was a thing. But I've mostly spent my time trying to work out what I'll do for my August celebrations. I'm moving into territory with my shiny Wheel where the festivals are new/not as well defined, so I'm going to try out some different things to see how they work. Hopefully, they'll evolve and settle into something good in a few years.
I've got the Feast of Zep Tepi down for the August High Day, so it's kind of meant to be a rerun of Wep Ronpet, but I think I'll do more along the lines of an Aset Luminous ritual, but not just to Aset, but to all my gods. I'll get a bowl of water, and write prayers on paper and make paper boats, and then float them with tealights, asking for help in the next six months, and/or thanking the gods for what they've given me so far. I thought about doing Aset Luminous in November, closer to when it was traditionally celebrated (in my switched around calendar at any rate), but it's too hot to do candle lighting festivals then, so I'll do it in August instead.

I've been trying very hard to get back on a rigid schedule... my work is very flexible about when and where I work, so I've been waking up too late, working too late, etc. I prefer to do my devotions in the morning, so they haven't been getting done. And I hadn't been cooking, so very few devotionals to Brighid.
I did, however share a bottle of some nice spiced Irish whiskey with Aine on Midsummer, just drinking glass after glass and pouring a good amount into the offering bowl. I just sat there in front of the altar, drinking whiskey and talking out loud about things going on in my lofe and with my family. I really like how that turned out.

Those are usually some of my favorite rituals too. In the past I'd let a clove cigarette smoulder in my hands while talking to Hermes, too(don't smoke myself, but He likes them! Before they were made illegal).

I've always wanted to try that kind of ritual with Dionysus, with wine though for obvious reasons .

The next big holy tide for me is Lughnassadh which I'm not all that fond of as Lugh and I don't get along the best. Still I will be at my grove's public rite to offer to Him. Will probably offer to some other deities at this time such as Aine....I am quite fond of Aine for various reasons.
Last year I mostly gave offerings to Sif around this time as far as the Aesir and Vanir are concerned. Might do that again....Not entirely sure quite yet.
