So ... quite unexpectedly, the Norse Gods have come calling. Odin, in particular, as well a Frau Holle (an aspect or name for Frigga, I guess). Does anyone here have any experience with Odin? If so, are you willing to share? Any advice? Thanks.

Odin is famous for recruiting, big time, so no surprise at all that he has come calling on you. ;-) I think he is very popular today, in part, because he does reach out to many who are open to the Gods.
He, the Allfather, is very...complex. Most people I know personally who are Odin followers suggest caution when communicating with him. I advise not to make any promises to him before finding out what exactly those promises will entail. You can decline what he suggests, too; and in my experience he respects strength and independence. He is the Cargo God. He is the God of the Runes. Some say he is the God of Mental Illness. And he has been strongly associated with death. In the Heathen lore he was one of the creators of humankind. He is very wise and astute. He is an extraordinary, brilliant, fast intelligence, even among Gods, in my opinion and experience.
In my experience, he answers prayers VERY quickly. And he is a very helpful God. But once he helps you, then you owe him. And he will expect a gift back, often of his own choosing if you do not give him something as soon as possible. I advise showing him great respect, but without allowing him to dominate you. Many people do let him dominate them, even to the point of saying they are his slaves. They are not joking, sadly. So, please do be cautious. I do love Odin, though. He is truly a God of action. And I think he really loves humans and this world very much. But he can be very tough on his followers, so I've been told. Fortunately, he has shown me, personally, great kindness and patience in my few dealings with him. I have heard others say they do not experience him as kind and patient. But others have experienced him as I have. And I know he saved someone's life when she did not even ask him to.
Some people actually have sighted him -- I mean claim to have seen him manifest physically. I have even heard that he has been sighted by those who do not believe in him. I do not know if those stories are true. I have never seen him physically.
Frau Holle is one of the Gods to whom I am devoted. Myself, I do not experience her as an aspect of Frigga. I experience her as a completely separate Goddess. She is very strong and has a great capacity for kindness. If you follow her, she likes you to have your house as clean as possible. She has a great love of and compassion for animals. Although she is very loving, she seems to have high expectations for us humans, I think. That is the impression I have been getting, anyway. She dislikes laziness. She especially loves freshly baked items as offerings -- especially if you have made them yourself. ;-)
There is a spring dedicated to Frau Holle in Germany from which I have some holy water I keep on my shrine. This year at Pantheacon there will be a big ritual for Frau Holle. I'm very excited about that. :-) There seems to be some sort of revival of Frau Holle worship happening in these last few years. She is not attested in Heathen lore, but does appear in fairy tales, though not very sympathetically. You are the first I have heard of, personally, whom she has approached.

I cam to paganism and Heathenry through Holle ( I tend to call her Holda). I also see her as an unique, Germanic deity: not Frigg, Freya or Hela who she is sometimes compared to. Easiest way to start with her is keep your home clean and tidy both mundane and magically. She is not for procrastination and I do that a lot so I am always surprised at her patience. A great source for Holle is Urglaawe. She has a prominent place in their practices and rituals. I have to agree she will eventually give some kind of requirement to do and expect you to do it. Not for her as a goddess but for you as a person. I have loved this winter it has made me think she has come to some new level in worship for some reason. I have also been so cooped up I have cleaned the dickens out of the house for something to do, lol.
How nice.

My first foray into paganism in general started with Odin. I always got the "gallows god" side of Him. Very intense, very no-nonsense. Don't plan on pulling too many shenanigans around Him.
I believe that Odin appears to people in the flesh in the form of a wanderer. I believe that because I think I saw Him in 2009, as I was pulling out of a Wells Fargo parking lot. Ever since then, Odin's name and appearance as Wanderer have had interesting influences in my spiritual travels.
Odin definitely travels a lot and reaches out pretty easily. Nowhere to hide from Him. I always admired His quest for knowledge.
